Honestly, after this chapter, I’d give up if I were the king’s guard. I’d tell the king he’s on his own because I’ve done everything I could to help him, but he refuses to listen. At some point, there’s nothing more you can do for someone who won’t take your advice.

I’d leave the palace and move to the countryside just to get away from the stubborn king and the council. They can deal with the consequences of their own decisions. I wouldn’t keep risking my life for people who ignore every warning.

That’s just my opinion after the latest chapter.
