I see! I feel like before the sudden affection for Josh he was in a really bad mental state and then it sort of temporarily disappeared here? Or at least that’s how I remember reading it. He was mean and on edge with everyone but like one night with Josh and suddenly he was so interested in him that he changed and seemed like a got better. But I can see how the thought of losing someone you care about can really put a strain on your mental health
nah actually in novel chase has always been suicidal. He doesn’t have any will to live since everyone around him treat him like an attraction (bc of his gender). That scene where he overdosed? he actually dgaf if he died from it. In the kidnapping scene chase also think to khs
