honestly ive only read up to 50 chapters so i havent yet know the full story.
the emperor and the duke was friends. they're literally joined at the hip. but from the duke's pov, he actually despise the emperor (even before the emperor stole his fiancee), it seems like he befriended the emperor out of his sadistic tendency(?) just so when they get really close and then he will abruptly 'broken up' their friendship, so then he could enjoy the emperor's despair and suffering. idk if this is his true feeling or is there any other reason behind it, since everyone in this damn book is an unreliable narrator.
the emperor definitely caught feelings for the duke (platonic or romantic? who knows). from his pov, the duke was his best and closest friend, so he feel really bad about stealing his fiancee (even suggesting a divorce just to appease him btw, he just love the duke that much). but long story short the push and pull stretched too much that their love has turned into hate
SORRY FOR THE LONG TEXT WALL
IT BEAUTIFULLL man i was stupid when i thought this was a happy comedy manhwa to cure my depression now i understand why youre more interested in their relationship haha
question : in the most recent chapter youre on right now, how was the main couple doing? did they alr get over the fl? thay seem to really love her so im a little worried...
sad news is our richard is still very much in love with daphne.....BUTTTTTT caelus starts getting more interested in richard (as in he wants to know the reason behind his actions)
also something happened and now richard openly shows his hostility to caelus. yes, richard admitted he DESPISES caelus. i feel like the enemies to lovers trope has just began

OH MY GOD THIS NOVEL GOT MANHWA ADAPTATION HAHAHA the novel is hilarious. and ngl im more invested in the emperor and the duke's relationship. "theres a thin line difference between love and hate."
