I saw a post on TikTok saying that the author made them be together in future and a lot of ppl in the comments were saying the same thing. I didn't look further into it, but hopefully that's not the case

So in the official they are just father and son but there are “side” extra chapters that suggest a relationship btwn them but its mostly separate from the story.
