The current husband murdered her 1st husband and the father of her child. No normal person would be happy in the trapped and highly volatile environment the ML created for the FL and her child, so he could do the King's dirty work (getting rid of the King's main rival) and trap the FL into a marriage while she still hadn't recovered from grieving over the death of her husband who just died.
