you still can't call her cruel for that. she's not responsible for the mcs feelings and also maybe add, she alr had problems with the ml being all up in her business and dimming her light and with the mc being one her closest friends ofc she's going to tell her to keep it a secret from him. you can argue that the mc keeping the phone a secret from her is cruel w ur logic
Well, it all depends on how you’re looking at it. To be clear, I’m not thinking of her in a negative light. I didn’t think I’ve ever evaluated characters this objectively before partly because I’m not attached to any of them. I’m just saying that if I were in her shoes and I did and said what she just did, it wouldn't be just because I wanted to have a secret between us girls. It would also be because I was being vindictive. Mean spirited, even. Whether that feeling is directed toward just the FL or the ML is a different question. But again, if I was her, it would be directed at both. Whether subconsciously or on purpose, I would lowkey be sabotaging whatever progress they’ve made by demanding that of the FL. And because I know who the FL is and how she’s processing that information, I, as a reader, feel it’s a cruel ask/request she’s made. However, what the FL and ML did by hiding the phone isn’t actually cruel to her by my logic. Simply because It’s not about wanting to hurt her feelings in some way shape or form.
"It would be because I was being vindictive", so youre projecting yourself onto Gaon, and being mad at Gaon because if you were her you wouldn't be a good person? LOL. The trope of the childhood friend telling the new person to take care of someone is a common happening and it doesnt mean they're being cruel. You're just projecting your nasty actions onto Gaon, no?

I’m not mad at her… I have zero negative feelings toward her. I just find that interesting. It’s a new layer to her character that makes her more interesting to me in any case, so I thought it was worth pointing out that considering her relationship with the FL and considering what she knows of the FL, it lowkey felt vindictive. That’s all there is to it. You can disagree instead of calling my comment “nasty actions.” That felt strange for no reason whatsoever.
Your interpretation of her being vindictive is all because of your perspective which is fueled by you projecting what you would do onto Gaon. You illustrated that in an earlier reply. The fact that you try and see the worst of Gaon before even considering that maybe she requested that, because she wanted to tell ML in her own terms, goes to show how shallow your mindset is, no? Maybe instead of projecting yourself, who would have a negative purpose for that action, into Gaon's shoes, you should try a different perspective? The reason why youre so hung up on Gaon being "mean spirited" is simply because you can't fathom that Gaon could be a good person. Because you yourself wouldn't be a good person if you were in Gaon's shoes. Youre free to argue, but thats what you argued earlier. "If i was in her shoes, it would be because i was being vindictive." You are not Gaon. Separate her from yourself. Your viciousness is not hers, don't project yourself onto her. That's why I called your actions nasty.

Knowing she loves him that much and asking her to keep something that big a secret from him… I don’t know, it might just be me, but it feels lowkey vindictive.
