This is a what if. The what if volumes of this novel are not exactly happy endings. This arc is very painful and SPOILER although they end up together it’s not the happiest ending. This is a what if and aeroc does not dream about his past life like klopp did in the main story.
In this what if arc klopp is actually not mentally well. And it gets worse. Klopp does feel deeply for Aeroc and that he acted so hatefully due to his own shortcomings and insecurities. But he is still unwell and dealing with his demons through this arc.
What I’m trying to say is that if you’re reading this what-if excited to see some closure and fluff, you will not get it. Idk if the comic will continue with other volumes but the side stories/what ifs are all a bit depressing. The only ones not sad are rafiel’s side story with his partner that takes place during second timeline. And Lennok (first son)’s short story that also takes place in second timeline. The rest are very sad. So be wary. I wasn’t prepared and it took an emotional toll on me.
It is indeed a tragedy, but a deeply moving story. It helps to know the side stories are just that: side stories. So if you want to distance yourself emotionally for your sanity you can.
