oh well, this was ridiculous, but probably the best ending for them. i wish yeowon falling head over heels was executed better. the sudden development threw me off. i told myself, “maybe it was stockholm?” but with how it was executed, it wasn’t convincing. maybe others might interpret it that way, but i feel like the author didn’t even attempt to portray stockholm. maybe they were trying to wrap up the series quickly or just get to a certain juncture.
the best i can say is that it was a toxic, pitiful codependency. he searched for security with a terrifying, volatile man because he thought that’s what he deserved for being ‘a murderer.’ one minute he’s running away, dragged back, being abused—and then a millisecond later, he’s seeing him under sakuras or wishing he was stalking him. again, their relationship was so lacking and so bland, i cannot even interpret it as stockholm. i feel like that’s wrong.. and i really do believe, if anything, the author just rushed it.
jang is also scary as fuck. i looked at his freaky ass and genuinely felt like he had a SOUL. like he was whispering in the authors ears, puppeteering them like ratatouille or some kinda monika crap. i can’t even make out this guy’s character, it really unnerved me shitless. i also believe he just lacked the substance of a character.
i did like this enough to keep reading, but after yeowon ran away, the series noticeably pivoted downhill and then laid in a ditch
