lmao I feel like Oliva honestly growing up Austen has been my favorite! even to this day I can't find any contemporary books about romance that can match Austen for me, back then idk what drew me in, now I'd say it is the realism. ofcourse much like mr Dalton I have plenty of criticisms myself for her works but where I can't read romance books of now, rely on mangas and such, and fanfictions for my fill of romance; I can never not be thoroughly entertained and swooned reading Austen. she really wrote about so much more than just some frivolous romance centred around a trpe or dynamic, it spoke about tye society, people, treatment of women in that specific stature, and these unique dynamics between her characters, all of which have always captivated me and I am sure many other people!
