Very unsatisfactory.

I’m a longtime reader; at first, I read a lot of manga before switching to some BL manhwa. In my opinion, almost all popular BL works have their own dark side, except for a few where the characters are purely “green flag.” Some of the BL manhwa I’ve read have almost identical stories and characters, with only a few differences in the plot. But this time, I have to admit that in terms of characters and plot, this work is completely different from the dark BL stories I usually read. The character portrayals feel unique and raw, and the bottom is definitely not someone who can easily forgive mistakes and have fun with the top as if everything that happened at the beginning never happened. Meanwhile, the top—who was obsessed from the start—gradually reveals another side of himself that isn’t seen in the main story. The characters’ backstories and alternative perspectives are well-developed. Without the unnecessary repetition of tragic pasts or unnecessary, repetitive rape scenes, the story feels far more realistic and plausible. This story feels raw and perfect in just 37 chapters. It’s worth noting that I also enjoy some of BL Green Flag’s other works, such as the second couple from "Mr. 100 Perfect" , because the chemistry between the characters is truly mature and well-developed.

You dont need media literacy to see this is garbage. Its not slop, its not repetitive, its just garbage. I wont accept an alien stage fan saying I have no media literacy. It was boring, and unsatisfactory. Go read something like unchanged man or the heart of the lotus if you want an actual good read. Not trash like this.

Oh, so it’s a matter of taste. You can’t force your tastes on me, and vice versa. You’re just jealous because this story is more popular and has its own unique style. Same goes for Jink. I don’t think the story is boring—the artwork is great—but it’s just not my cup of tea. Instead of dissing other people’s work, you’re better off just praising the stuff you like on your own page. It’s up to you if you want to write a long essay about its merits.

I tend to gravitate toward manhwa where the characters aren’t purely “green flags.” I prefer when they’re more yellow or red flags because the pure,
idealized dynamics can get a bit boring for me. I know a lot of these stories end up following similar plots, and the classic “rich top saves the poor, debt-ridden bottom from a miserable life” trope in particular starts to feel repetitive after a while. What I did appreciate about this one is that it tried to do something a bit different. Instead of the bottom being a pure-hearted guy who never does anything wrong despite his circumstances, he was actually disliked by a lot of people and had done quite a few questionable things before the story properly started. That history affected how he behaved in certain situations, which made him more interesting to me. That said, I still didn’t find it perfect. The ending especially didn’t land for me—it just wasn’t satisfying enough. Though to be fair, it is a side story, and the creator has a pretty specific (and sometimes fetishistic) style, so I wasn’t really expecting a fully polished or emotionally complete conclusion.

Overall the story just wasn’t for me, even though I’ve enjoyed some of this author’s other work. I’m not a longtime manhwa reader—I’ve mostly read novels (including a lot of criminology novels)—so my standards might be a little high coming into BL manhwa after so many polished prose stories. I’m glad you were able to enjoy this one thoroughly, though. Different tastes and all that!

Why would I possibly be jealous of something that isn’t even my work? I’m simply recommending genuinely better stories—ones that actually demand real media literacy and intellectual engagement—after someone rather presumptuously suggested I lack it. Those stories require far more from the brain to properly appreciate. You wrote a lengthy essay about what you enjoy in it, so I responded in kind with what I like and dislike.

I’m “dissing” this person’s work because they’re a fetishistic writer with no apparent interest in crafting an actually good, satisfying story. Feel free to compose your own essay praising its supposed merits if you like, but don’t delude yourself into calling this a satisfying or well-written piece. It simply isn’t.

And let’s not overlook the ratings: this story sits at a modest 7.9, while the ones I recommended are at 9.1 and 8.3. Truly, there’s nothing here worth envying.
