That's exactly my thoughts. We can see that he's as passioned about piano as heejae (if he wasn't, he wouldn't have felt a connection between them in the first place and stuck it out this far) but the exploration of garam's self kinda stopped at the end of season 3. I always feel like he's so resilient and stubborn and that's why he could go through all the bullshit back in korea and all the bullshit heejae is currently throwing at him. He gets over his burden quickly just so he can shoulder others', and that's the kind of music he has: inviting and accepting everyone who listens to it. And i wish we can explore more of that, because that's such an incredible (and difficult) thing to do?? To be resilient and accepting, stubborn and comforting. Like what makes him grow to be such an individual? What moves him other than heejae? I want to know more!
Till where I read, Garam's mind is either filled with Heejae, Compton or the orchestra member- it's like he is the most normal out of them all- maybe because he doesn't know himself. The others are clear about their feelings from deep within. Though, I will say- the complex character till where I read would be Garam and Compton- maybe, thats why- compton feels that he and he are perfect comrades, but in fact even he doesn't know Garam at all. Even Compton(considered super talented) doesn't understand his sound- then, I wonder, are they not talented- or just ignorant?
Ugh- is it just me, or doesn't it feel like something is missing? Why does Heejae not know Garam yet if he is the only one who can understand Garam's sound? Being lonely and having past issues don't undermine the fact that he is a born talent. Everyone knows that Garam is not talented other than his unique sound; forcing Garam to follow his path is a great way to make sure Garam shines as a gem. But now that I reread this part- does Heejae even listen to Garam's sound? I feel like we know a lot about Heejae but nothing about Garam. Why does it feel like, all of a sudden, Garam is a mystery? i am way ahead in raws, but still- all i have seen is his soft version- his thoughts over Heejae are very clear- but why does it feel like I don't know why- and how Garam feels that way? Because, if not him, no one else will- or how could he turn away- when he knows the true agonising struggle of a lonely soul, since he was just like him?- dedicating his sound to Heejae to embrace him? When I think about it- even his monologues are about Heejae. Every line he thinks about is about someone else, and when he thinks about himself, it's never a statement but a question. Though Garam looks the most simple-minded in this manhwa, i still can't manage to figure him out.
