the researcher was kidnapped, underwent "training" (who knows what is was but it's most likely to be heavy brainwashing while being drugged, prob some non-con shit happening in there too with the colonel had said that it's been awhile since he fucked a man).
basically, the researcher was made into someone with zero morals, guilt and sympathy just for creating the "vaccine".
comes in mc, in short a rebel, criticizes researcher's morals and principles, additionally calling him a "coward".
while doing the "torture/training" scene, it also shows that researcher had been wanting to leave the place but couldn't for obvious reasons. mc in the other hand was able to leave his post, i think researcher didn't like that (duh).
i kept remembering the smut scenes that i can't even remember the plot.
but all in all, what the researcher wanted was freedom, he wanted to do what mc was able to do which is why he kinda "dissected" him, somewhat. (ps. researcher's dialogue where he said that he could've opened his head instead but didn't.)
ngl, plot seems good, just a bit blurry since they kept covering it up with smut scenes.
