honestly the best way to put it is it feels like they condensed 5 seasons into 2 seasons. there’s so many things that were introduced and just… forgotten.
first of all the 2 ladies in waiting. the foolish girl (forgot her name) was introduced to be an important plot point, yet she wasn’t even mentioned after that. also, the mage thing. it felt so sudden and not flesh out. wtf is the mage council thingy? they should’ve at least dedicated half a chapter to explaining that and how kayena got reincarnated, brought back to life, etc etc. also feels like regef and kayena’s ending was soo rushed. yes, he let her go in the end… and? what does she think of it? there should’ve been like, half a chapter explaining both their thoughts and wrapping it up.
thats the main parts of it but honestly there’s a lot that just felt explained badly. for example…. her coming of age ceremony? where tf did catherine go? how come it was nighttime, then daytime when she arrived in the village?? nitpicky but it’s so weird bru. also the white haired mage guy just seemed like such a random addition that did nothing for the plot, and was dealt with way too quickly.
also, olivia. she’s the protagonist of the original novel, come on. she deserves like… more explanation in the story
i know i have a lot of complaints but overall, it was a fun read, especially in the beginning. season 2 was a drag though. but the art carried, it’s beautiful.
