Yeah I hate this trope. So unrealistic, and I'm not one to nitpick about realism but why can't they just have previous experiences? What's with purity culture seeping into yaois and joseis? We're literally reading smut, the illusion of pure or meant to be love won't break if they've previously had sex like, come on.
