I think Caelus is also regressing and is actually in love with Richard, but just like Richard he’s pretending to be in love with Daphne to protect him. I bet they both only remember the regressions where they themselves don’t die. Caelus regresses when Richard dies, Richard regresses when Daphne or Caelus dies (bc they’re both possible love interests?).
I am getting some of this from the novel but I’ve only read up to where the manhwa is so it’s just some additional dialogue that’s in the novel but not in the manhwa that made me think of this. Will update later if I feel like it lol
