Heejae goes to management and asks about his former manager, trying to find his picture, but they can't. Later, when he gets home, Garam asks why he wasn't home early that morning. Heejae brushes him off, acting distant without a proper explanation. That night, Garam thinks he did something wrong, apologizes, and kisses him. During the kiss, that cursed white light reappears. BUT THIS TIME, GARAM IS WEARING A SWEATER, AND THE WHITE LIGHT FROM THE KISS IS WEARING A SHIRT. I'm so tired omgg
I've read up to 201, so this is what i understand:

The manager figure heejae keeps seeing is more like a manifestation of his fear of being abandoned for being a "knife-like" person. He tries to resolve it by looking for the manager's pictures and other things they had shared together, but the fear won't go away, and it'll haunt him for quite some time. It still hasn't been resolved up to the latest raw, but from what i've read so far, garam has never been a replacement for the manager.
Him kissing the "figure" is also the result of that fear. It's not that he's imagining kissing the manager, it's that he feels like a fraud for kissing garam while being such a horrible person.
That's my understanding though! Maybe i'm wrong about the details but i can at least confidentally say that the professor is stupidly in love with garam, like not an ounce of exaggeration he's so down bad for him.

As the story progresses we can see the manager figure as heejae's self hatred. Because it WILL show up everytime heejae doubts himself or feels anxious about his relationship with garam.

Yuppp he knows he treats garam like shit. And the more he loves garam (and vice versa), the more he realizes how hurtful he was in the past, and this issue is currently coming up in the latest raws. So i'm rly scared for my life honestly lmaooo but i'm glad that it seems the author won't let garam just forget about heejae's past cruelty to him.

Well, you dont need to worry that much, but the presence vanishes around 162. After that, Garam's presence haunts him.

Omg thank u and yess what I understand from the latest episodes, Garam is thinking about how much pain Heejae caused him in the past and wondering if Heejae has forgotten those memories. I hope that white light is just Heejae's own conscience.
