It's kind of strange because I actually discovered this story through the novel first, and I absolutely loved it. It was tragic, dark, cruel, and the scenes were incredibly vivid, with a touch of poetry. It even made me cry more than once.
(Spoiler) One example would be the moving-in arc, which is so much more fleshed out in the novel. It takes him forever to settle in. They don't get back in touch right away : we see him gradually becoming friends with the other boy, discovering the streets, feeling stressed about living alone, starting his little vegetable garden. We get access to all his thoughts as he falls asleep thinking about the ML's sleep, when he's scared by the slightest noise while living alone, ML visits him more than once before the two of them reconnect.... All of that was cut from the webtoon. Such a shame. The novel is so much better.
I just can't seem to find what I loved about the novel in the webtoon adaptation. I honestly think it needed a different artist to truly do the novel justice. (⊙…⊙ )
