Totally agree with you! Maybe the author really didn't give too much thought for the villain's character. They just put the villain for the plot to mooooveee xD

Typically murder and rape to “no” is spontaneous and in the heat of the moment tho. Granted both scenarios are psychotic but this just feels like last minute lazy writing
Had a friend of mine a couple years after we graduated high-school get murdered by a dude she rejected to go to junior prom with. Like, completely out of left field. He hadn't tried to contact her a year after she rejected him. Granted, we knew he was a weirdo, but none of us expected him to just kill her years after the fact.

But this is a fictional story. For it to translate and have some impact the readers need more than just “ppl do fucked up shit sometimes”.
Thats some weak motive for revenge. Since when does making a highschool crush cry motivate a person into their adulthood to go through plastic surgery and dedicate so much to get into the entertainment industry just to exact brief revenge…like what
