Currently re-reading so I can pick the novel up, and man... I got reminded how much I hate the smut scene...
I love smut as much as the next person but it's so incredibly out of place here. Not everything needs to have smut early on. And it's even more weird when it's not even in the novel from what I heard. Otherwise it would've probably felt less out of place.
Praying to God they won't do the same with THGLL. The smut was such a good payoff in the side stories thanks to that. Like, let the slow burn be as intended, man.
They already ruined another story entirely for me with that stunt
