I think ,based off the story so far , that his revenge isn’t because the other guy isn’t in a relationship with him anymore but more so that he believes that the omega “ruined” their friendship they had because he confessed to him. The alpha thought that because the omega did that, they couldn’t go back to being friends. He basically took it more as a betrayal since he looked at the omega with thoughts of friendship and the omega looked at him with romantic feelings/ interests. Idk it’s weird

Actually him punishing Gihyeon for that confession doesn’t make sense to me even after completing the novel. But perhaps more than punishing Gihyeon, he just can’t bring himself to be honest that he want this guy all for him. He is rejecting the possibility of him being in a happy relationship given the trauma he has. Idk I’ve been trying to understand the guy but it was just so hard.

Yeah that sounds more plausible. I also feel like, along with what you said, the alpha is punishing gihyeon because he no longer holds any power/ control over him.

Honestly, it's so stupid he's "punishing" Gi-hyeong for his confessing because he's the one suggesting they should date, lmao. Like, he made Gi-hyeong hold back on life in so many aspects but he's the miserable one just because a confession that happened 7 years ago. What an entitled asshole
