I guess author trying tu portray how disgusting human being can become when they live in world where is dystopian and they become dictatorship's slaves .... None of them are sane cuz of military life and harsh environments thy are in ryujin is also kinda strong but very soft for thys world he is different despite going through same things as rest of them. Cuz there is a line he draws which is being more human and he can't help grudges for long meanwhile shin holds grudge and believe in satan way to deal with things.
Okay i only got on the beginning of the story but SERIOUSLY WTF IS WRONG WITH ALL OF THEM LIKE ITS SO FRUSTRATING
