I do wish some scenes were portrayed more differently, like the sexual assault. While the other sex scenes were fine and dandy, the rape with the old man was very disturbing, in both the way how it was so detailed and not that needed. Yes, we know that the old man is bad, obviously, but seeing how he sexually assaults the bottom in that way lowkirkenly alot. If it wasnt so sexual, I feel like it could've been okay. If that doesn't make sense , I apologize for the poor wording.
I do like how there's a genuine plot behind it, and how in their own way they try to protect each other but they're just digging their own hole. Top has an obsessive sort of love since his highschool days, so it's obvious been a problem that to "protect" the one he likes, he just beats up whoever is bothering them. I like how consistent that part of his character is. It's not like he improved either , it was just hidden until maybe he found someone he actually liked, but it's worse because of all the shit the bottom is in, the top is only going to further his behaviours thar aren't good at all. When he said that he "really likes" the bottom, it didn't feel genuine but it felt like chaining words since he saw how the bottom likes him.
On that note, I think the bottom only likes the top because of the idealized version in his head. He wants to the top to save him, but the only way to do that is more violence. I think if top kills the pedophile bastard old man, the bottom won't immediately become better, and it would be all sunshine and rainbows. The sort of possessiveness the top has will ruin the bottom again too.
Its like theyre just gonna swallow each other up in their own toxicness, labeled in romance.
The art is beautiful, it gives me chills when it gets serious. I wish they had bottoms snake eyes back though, hes just getting more and more cute than scary which is fine, but he was way better non moe-ified
