I'm pretty sure that there was an interview with Tagura-sensei featured in a manga magazine either last year or the year before where she specifically stated that she hasn't forgotten about the series nor is she planning to end it from her side, and that she's simply had to put it on the backburner for now.
She's also been asked about it dozens of times on her social media by JP and international readers (which I'm sure must bother her at least a lil bit lol.) Worth noting that she also put another popular series of hers, Nomi x Shiba, on indefinite hiatus as well, AND had a chapter of a new series released just last year.
She's definitely still active but I guess she just doesn't feel like finishing it at the moment :(

I know for a fact that it was translated and posted to a tumblr blog either last year or the year before and that’s where I read it. However, if my memory serves me correctly, it was just a small written interview featured in the magazine where either koimonogatari or nomi x shiba was being serialized and I don’t necessarily know either if she regularly does interviews, I just happened upon that one by chance when looking for any new updates on koimonogatari. If I ever find the post I initially read, I’ll definitely make sure to post it here.

Okay I genuinely just can’t find it on Tumblr at all when I search under Tagura Tohru, Koimonogatari, or Naomi x Shiba tags. I do see that Tagura Tohru started a new manga called “Gochisousama ga Iitakute” in September 2025 and that’s about all the activity I can see from her since 2025. Was it possibly an interview attached to the beginning of that series maybe? Sorry I keep pestering you about this lol
