Right in cases where the seme is the one who loved the uke for a long like like backlight, he still sleep around. There's many more semes who love uke for a long time that do that. Yet when it's the uke turn, they always somehow SOMEHOW A VIRGIN. even if they go so broke they barely make a living yet suddenly they threw away their dirty when the seme is the one offering for fuck buddy despite refusing the others because according to the story uke is still has dignity??? YEY ACCEPT IT WHEN IT WAS SEME WHO FUCKS AROUND. I Hate korean bls
Exactly. That's the double standard that pisses me off. When the seme has been "in love for years," he still sleeps with half the damn city, and the story brushes it off. But when it's the uke who's loved the seme for years, he's somehow always a fucking virgin.
Even when the uke is broke as hell and barely surviving, he rejects everyone else because the story says he has "too much dignity," yet the moment the seme offers a friends-with-benefits arrangement, suddenly that dignity disappears. It's such a lazy, overused trope. Why can't the uke move on, date other people, or have his own experiences too? Korean BLs really need to stop recycling this bullshit.
Same. It genuinely feels like so many authors are copying the exact same formula instead of trying something new. It's always the same experienced manwhore top, the innocent virgin bottom, the same misunderstandings, the same redemption arc, over and over again. At this point, the creativity has gone completely out the fucking window. I just want authors to break the mold instead of recycling the same tired-ass tropes every damn time.
Isn’t it also because of their age difference? I think I read somewhere that he didn’t whore around, that he genuinely entered relationships because having a crush on someone way younger than him was weird to him. But I agree, one too many stories all share the same trope “experienced top and a virgin bottom”
I read the spoliers he was fucking anyone he met not genuine relationship most likely the first girlfriend was due to the attraction but after that he fucked around till now he joined sex parties and explored kinks and all and after meeting the mc at airport HE Fell for him after he became adult but he only see him as a sex partner no feelings involved till almost end of novel
I love this comment, glad there's more people waking up to this bullshit, enough w this tradfujoshi shit!enough of virgin/pure uke and manwhore semes!let's move on!even when the uke is extremely freaky/dirty or works w something related to sex(camboy/streamer etc)they are still virgins!like cmon now be fr,i will give 2 examples like that, althought i like those 2 manhwas this genuinely pissed me off:full volume and nice to see you
Those 2 manhwas have the horniests ukes ever and both ukes works are directly related to sex BUT guess what?both virgins, actually all the stories w ukes that are camboys/+18streamers that i have read they all were virgins smh while the semes slept around w the whole city...just to be clear that i'm not against virgin ukes!there's cases where i even understand when the uke is virgin while the top is not but there's clearly some bullshit that authors do w ukes that nobody can't deny#-.-)
Omg i was just starting to read one like that!it was going so good BUT the 29yo guy who is the uke had to be a virgin totally untouched while the seme had to be a manwhore....this is honestly getting tiring,to top it off it's just like u described,he guarded his virginity his whole life and who will he give in?a fuckboy gangster....
Just to see how forced the virgin narrative is,the guy is 29 a doctor, not socially akward,ho and handsome but totally untouched his whole life,it's ridiculous,i had read some that grown ass adult ukes going to 30 doesn't even know ANYTHING about sex,the authors put those ridiculous shit just to make the ukes go into this pure/naive narrative no matter what ヽ(`Д´)ノ
https://www.mangago.me/home/mangatopic/22279953/. Well it not specific but here
All these people in manhwa comment sections keep saying, "Oh my God, why are you so offended if the ML has experience? It's his choice. Why the fuck are you so bothered about whether he's experienced or not?" But these are the exact same people whose comments I've read defending a manwhore ML while turning around and slut-shaming the MC for doing the exact same fucking thing.
I've literally seen people say, "If the ML is a player, it's fine." But the moment the bottom sleeps with someone else, suddenly he's "dirty," "used," or "slutting around." I even saw someone comment that the MC should go and fuck someone else instead of wasting his life on this fucking manwhore. The replies? "Are you 12?" "Grow up." The irony is fucking hilarious.
See, this is where culture plays a huge role. Different countries have completely different attitudes toward sex. In many conservative societies, sex isn't treated as casually as it is in some more liberal cultures. In my country, it's completely normal for people to have their first sexual relationship in their early or even mid-twenties. Meanwhile, if you grow up in an environment where dating and sex at 15 or 16 are common, then obviously your perspective on sexual experience is going to be different.
So when people mock others by saying, "Are you a kid?" or "Why the fuck do you care if he's experienced?", they're speaking from a completely different cultural lens. To them, having multiple partners isn't a big deal. Fine. But stop acting like your fucking perspective is the universal standard everyone else has to follow.
What pisses me off is the blatant fucking hypocrisy. If it's genuinely "his choice" for the ML to sleep around, then it should also be the MC's choice. But the second someone suggests the MC should go out, fuck someone else, or have his own experience before ending up with this manwhore, suddenly everyone loses their fucking minds. So which is it? Is sexual experience normal, or does it only become a fucking problem when the MC does it?
And let's not pretend these authors don't know exactly what the fuck they're doing. If this is fiction, they could easily write both characters as experienced adults. Instead, they intentionally make one character a serial manwhore and the other a complete virgin. Why? Because it creates a massive fucking power imbalance. The ML becomes the MC's first for everything, emotionally and sexually, making it much easier to trap the MC in this bullshit "first love" narrative no matter how badly the ML treats him.
Then the fandom reinforces that same garbage by saying, "Well, the ML was his first, so of course they have to end up together." That's the same tired-ass narrative that's been shoved into these stories for decades, and people keep eating it up without questioning the obvious double standard behind it.
Now imagine the opposite. If the MC had already been through multiple healthy relationships, he'd recognize every single red flag this asshole throws up. He'd know exactly what a player looks like, wouldn't romanticize bare-minimum affection, and would be far less likely to tolerate the ML's bullshit. The author knows that. That's exactly why the MC is almost always written as sexually inexperienced while the ML has fucked half the damn city. It isn't a coincidence. It's a deliberate narrative choice to create dependency, imbalance, and make readers accept a relationship they probably wouldn't buy if both characters were on equal footing.
Also not trying to be "woke"but the misogyny in the fujoshi community is so strong and nothing new, they act like that towards the ukes bc they think of them as "being the woman in the relationship"but well like u said the authors put these ukes in these positions on purpose for the readers to think of them like that and that's the point of this that bothers me,i've seen ukes being slut shamed so many times too when if it was the other way around they wouldn't even mention, also let's not pretend positions in bed>in bl<doesn't matter, the sex role counts a lot when they portray their personality that's why we have tropes like "innocent bottoms"/"power bottoms"/"slutty bottoms"and many more just like the tropes for semes like "puppy top"/"red flag top"/"black flag top"/"cold top" etc it's so clear that even in the official sites they put those tropes in the hashtags for the summary so those people being like"oh why does it matter to you?"bxtch i know it matter to you too and it literally matters to the story#-.-)
Man, I'm still fucking laughing because this happened on Behind the Stage. In my initial comment, I simply called the ML a manwhore, which is a completely normal term people use in manhwa discussions. We're literally on a fucking illegal scan site commenting on fictional characters, and people act like I committed a crime.
Then three people jumped in asking, "Why are you calling him a manwhore?" and started arguing with me as if I had said some horrible slur. Apparently, calling a guy who constantly sleeps around a manwhore is suddenly offensive.
Like... what the fuck else am I supposed to call a man who's constantly sleeping around? That's literally what the word means. If a character is written as someone who fucks anything that moves, then "manwhore" isn't an insult I invented it's a description of his behavior.
And here's the funniest fucking part: these same people will shamelessly call bottoms "sluts," "used," "dirty," or say they're "whoring around" the moment they have another partner. But the second you use the male equivalent for the ML, everyone suddenly gets offended and starts acting like you've crossed some moral line.
That's exactly the double standard I'm talking about. They're perfectly comfortable policing the MC's sexual history, but the moment the exact same label is applied to the ML for the exact same behavior, they suddenly act like it's disrespectful. The hypocrisy is so fucking obvious it's honestly hilarious.
Here on this site people are kinda nuts, nowadays i avoid comment bc whenever u give opinions like everyone else is doing some people will come to jump you like u talked about their mama,i'm not saying they can't reply to your public comment what i mean is that they will come w rocks on their hands ready to be a keyboard warrior to attack you,no arguments just straight up attacks like chill we are talking about fictional characters he re bruh lol

It's always the biggest manwhore who ends up with the virgin bottom. Yeah, you can argue it was his choice to sleep around, but what, some fucking miracle happened the moment he saw the MC again after years? His whole damn brain just rewired?
He fucked dozens of people and never caught feelings for any of them, but suddenly it's the innocent virgin bottom? I'm so fucking sick of this cliché.
Honestly, it would've been so much better if, after getting rejected, the MC had said, "Fuck this," moved on, dated other people, and actually lived his life. Then, when the ML finally realized his feelings, he'd have to earn that relationship instead of the MC just waiting around like a backup option. That would've made the romance feel a hell of a lot more satisfying instead of the same recycled bullshit trope.
