Super fuckinf well done story. I’m left actually baffled even if it’s fucked up. Spoilers below: It’s crazy to be how twisted the ML actually was like there was no cherry picking to try to convince the reader he was actually “doing good” nah he was just evil even when fuckin those douche bags. Cuz the only reason he’d kill them was cuz for as much dicks as they were, they weren’t to the extent the ML was of fucked up and he’d kill then when they wouldn’t bend to what he deemed was loving “all of him.” I don’t know if he actually looked for horrible guys because he wanted to kill them or because he hoped that someone he had to overlook the faults of could overlook his faults as well. Maybe he just attracted assholes too.
On the other side of the coin, the MC was also a pos. His brother really was just his scape goat until the very end, even “losing” to him in the battle of “love” with the priest(ML) when it came down to it. The ML was really twisted to say “I like your brother better than you” before killing him. Thats fuckinf crazy - and overall the brother probably wouldn’t have even been one of the ML’s victims from the very beginning had his circumstances been different. He seemed like he genuinely wanted to change and be better. Meanwhile the MC was content in his own world. He was just content being a bad person. As long as he could justify being better off than his brother, he could shrug it off.
I think the worst part is that he had no moment of self reflection either. When his brother finally has it and rightfully lashes out at him, that last goodbye just solidified that the MC is capable of being the person the ML wanted. A horrible, selfish person who cared for no one else but himself even in the way he loved someone else and accepted his faults - even if that meant murder, as long as HE deemed it justified.
Up to the end those two were incredibly selfish and revolting lovers. The ML killing himself the way that he did by the hands of the MC and the MC never giving himself a moment to grow. Never taking the outstretched hand to learn to be a better person.
