I’ve seen other comments explain that he’s never really felt love before so he doesn’t understand his own feelings and emotions. I think he comes to understand that he loves him at some point

yeah just like the above comment said, before meeting rensley, he wasn’t interested in love or sex. even though rensley confessed first and gezell said he couldn’t reciprocate at that moment, it’s obvious that he already liked rensley at that point but didn’t really understand or acknowledge his feelings because he lacked any experience. so rensley initiated everything at first because he does have some experience and gezell just follows his lead (hence showing that he already inherently likes rensley because he was okay doing all of this with him when he didn’t care for this stuff before). their first time was a mess because there was no prep at all but the second time went a lot smoother and gezell ends up loving it. there’s a lot of intimacy and smut scenes after that. a little later, rensley ends up running away because he’s really in love with gezell and doesn’t think he can bare watching him remarry and have a kid. gezell loses his mind after rensley disappears and had a whole search team looking for him. poor anton was trying to get gezell to think deeper about his feelings and if he would be okay if rensley were to start a new relationship with someone else. they reunite after 3 weeks, and that’s when gezell finally confesses to rensley that he loves him (this is about 580ish pages in)

Omg thank you sooo much! this will take forever to get adapted isnt it well i will try to let this marinate but I almost never can(〜￣△￣)〜 also I felt like their second time was smoother but idk why It felt like the king does it just cause the mc wants to do it i mean at some point he also took the lead but I thought it was just cause it felt good and all I know he had to have some feeling for the mc to do this but it was weird him saying he doesnt feel the same as him and then they go to that is weird or its just me? Also I felt so bad for the main character and if I remember correctly he also thinks during them doing it that the king is only being nice to him and such which just made it worse. And I hope there will be some yearning from the king he deserves it after what the mc has been through!!!

no i can see why you would think it’s weird. because basically they basically were exclusive to each other but with no title to their relationship (other than duke and subordinate/knight). gezell is pretty dense about his own feelings because of the no experience. like for example, rensley wanted to eat tomatoes but they don’t grow in aldrant due to the weather and gezell creates a greenhouse for him to grow tomatoes like helloooo wdym you’re doing all this for someone you don’t know if you love lol. gezell is also pretty naive because from the very beginning though as he never thought marriage was a big deal. it was simply one of his duties as a king. he thought everything would be fine even if he remarried as long as rensley could stay by his side platonically (he said he would remain faithful to his theoretical new duchess even if it was just a political marriage). that’s too much to ask for of rensley considering he knows how rensley feels about him. but no worries rensley fell first, but gezell falls harder

Can I ask you said resley has done experience does that mean hes had sex with men before or maybe he did with woman or maybe he didn't go all the way with either

You said they had no prep their first time which is what makes me think hes not bottomed before

I'm pretty sure the beginning hes attracted to women and confused why he finds ml so attractive sincw hes a man but I can't remember
