Honestly, this was such a good read I never expected to fall for this story the way I did. Going in, I braced myself for the worst because everyone kept saying the male lead was awful, and I genuinely hated him at first I thought he'd be evil in the worst way, forcing himself on the mc over and over, practically assaulting him. I thought it was going to be that kind of story, and it scared me off before I even started. But after reading it... call me crazy, but I don't think he was nearly as bad as people made him out to be especiallyafter founding out that his desired grew stronger because of the side effectsof the medication so i thought he would just force mc to sleep him all day and never stopping even if the mc was on the brink of dying . He was actually decent. My real definition of a bad male lead (i really hate calling him that) is the one from *Non Zero Sum* that man is on a completely different level, and this male lead is nothing like him. He was sweet, kind, a little unhinged sometimes, sure, but he never treated the people around him that harshly. So when I thought he'd died, I was genuinely crying he'd wormed his way into my heart faster than I expected, evil streak and all, and losing him hit hard. I'm so glad he didn't die (yet). My favorite part ended up being episode 25 or 26 i don't remember correctly where the mc kisses him and he goes so submissive it's unreal.Watching that growth, seeing him melt like that, was everything. The mc basically goes "let's go, we're going back to silivan(or whatever that place was)," and he's so completely in love, so far gone, that all he can do is say "yeah, let's go" back. I was in crazy love watching that. The story was really good, and honestly the ending was good too. But personally, I don't love endings where they grow old together. It's beautiful, in a way the idea that they got to spend a whole lifetime side by side, growing old in each other's presence but it's also terrifying, because growing old together means one of them will eventually have to watch the other die. That thought sits heavy with me. It's why I gravitate toward the cultivation trope so much there's at least the possibility of immortality, even if it's brutally hard to reach, and it means I don't have to sit with the idea of losing either of them.If I could change or add anything, it would be more communication between them, and I really wish the mc had said "I like you" or "I love you" to him at least once in his life. Just once. That's the one thing I felt was missing but ig it was like him saying i like you in the chapter where the ml pretends to be a god and i think that was the happiest day for the ml as well. Honestly, I think everyone should give this a try. It was such a refreshing read, so different from most of what I've come across this mix of good and evil pulled off in a way that actually worked. It was really good.I never thought I'd end up loving this story this much and thank god there was no incest in it. And one more thing the art is GORGEOUS The top had me completely HEAD OVER HEELS and even as an old man, he was still STUNNING
