While reading stories like this, don't forget that it happens often in real life too, so you would have a better understanding of what you're feeling about it. Feeling both bad and thinking that Jiwook deserved every single thing that happened to him is valid. Rape/SA is an unforgivable act no matter what. Even if he forgot everything, it doesn't erase it. I'm saying all of this as a victim myself
If you're curious about this story, just stay curious, don't even touch it. This is some serious disturbing content. It's batshit crazy and disgusting. I understand that this is a revenge story but it goes beyond to the point that you're starting to feel bad for Jiwook even tho he did it to Juyeon first and left him and his mother traumatized that she's still in the psych ward. Juyeon has rights to take revenge but took it too far, even involving an animal(novel). It is stated that manhwa will be different from the novel so I hope they choose an "appropriate" ending for it. But from the looks of it, Jiwook seems to develop some kind of dependence to Juyeon, so there's a possibility of him just staying with him forever OR maybe an ending where both of them die? Or one dies and other is stuck in psych ward?(the irony) I would prefer the death ending for this story tbh because staying alive together after all the things they went thru sounds like hell. Anyways here's a comment I found while digging about this manhwa which I found interesting:
"Both Jiwook and Joyeon are victims and abusers in their own ways. During their teenage years, Jiwook and his gang physically and psychologically abused Joyeon, leaving him deeply traumatized. Even though Jiwook later loses his memories, that does not erase the suffering he caused or the lasting impact of his actions. At the same time, Joyeon, driven by years of trauma, anger, and a desire for revenge, ends up abusing Jiwook as well. This is what makes Revenge (Reverse Thinking) so interesting to me: it is a story about how abuse creates a cycle where the victim can eventually become the abuser. Personally, I sympathize more with Joyeon. Jiwook's memory loss does not change what happened in the past, and the damage he caused is still real. However, I do not think Joyeon's actions are justified either. One thing I have learned is that revenge rarely brings peace. It cannot change the past, and it often creates even more suffering. That is why I love this manhwa. It does not present a simple story of good versus evil. Instead, it explores trauma, abuse, guilt, revenge, and the devastating consequences these things have on people's lives. In the end, nobody truly wins, and that is what makes the story so powerful."
