To understand the circumstances and xinlu's character i'd say yeah

Graphic violence, non-con, ml being a psycho….the situation is starting to look a bit brighter but only recently meanin it gets slightly better after 130+ chaptersbut the plot is rlly good if you ignore the obvious (the ml) i haven't read the novel so i can't really say
You don't really need to if you don't want. The only thing you'll miss is their first meeting and xinlu's history with the main characters in passion, especially his obsession with Taeui. But since they aren't really shown here and it's moving to a new storyline, you should still be able to understand it.
Do i need to read passion to understand this?
