So has he been trying to convince himself that keeping her alive is the right thing to do? A sort of spousal obligation, faking the noble hero husband, and that the night with Bido's sister was a moment of weakness or something? Did she seduce him, or what?
Did she come on to him in a similar way to what Bido is doing now? Except Bido hates him, wants to torture him, but figure out a mystery that might not be all that much of a mystery. Clearly he's obsessed with his wife, but there's a smoldering resentment, too, but is it from just Bido, or both? Strange, strange, strange...
