I just finished this and I am so conflicted..SPOILERS AHEAD
Everyone in this story had their illusion which they clung to which could absolve them of their negatives ( Victoria created the farce of her brother being a devil as acover up for her feelings towards him, June thought of herself as a independent artist when later we could see she mostly wanted to feel special and validated by the high class women, Edgar disguised his need for control as a devotion, and ofc Cameron with his emerald lover who could grant him infinite love and salvation). But later we could see Cameron was the one who first accepted the reality while the other stuck to their illusions was it because he was man and a noble and his reality was much more forgiving while the rest of the characters had reality so bleak that they refused to part with those memories he gave them, it was as if he reflected their innermost desires and a way to fulfill them but I wonder if this is really true cuz we have seen him only from their povs. The story is written so well I felt each of their heartbreaks and and considered that indeed Cameron got what was coming to him for a moment although now I know the murder was entirely unfair. Sorry for the long rant I got too overwhelmed.
