It's been a long time since I've like BOTH leads in a love triangle to be w MC and no indication of who's the obvious winner so far. Both are in the same level.
I honestly like the two of them seem to genuinely would like to be friends w the other. At first, I was in favor of the Captain, but then I got captivated by the Childhood Friend. Each has diff approach, but hard to say which has better chemistry w MC
Captain: motivates MC to be better in baseball. He's the wind that flows to where MC goes. He redirects him if needed but he's always there
Childhood Friend: also motivates MC to be better but in a diff way. If Captain is the wind, then Friend is the anchor. He's the reason why MC still stay afloat.
At first, I was skeptical abt the Friend and his apparent three-year-long ghosting, but I understand his reason. Being a child of divorce, a lifetime injury, unable to play the sport you love, and rumors surrounding his parents, the mind will really pull you into the darker depths (I've been there before lol). Severing his a connection w a close friend—while it may seem self-sabotaging, it's unfortunately a common effect w a situation like his.
Both are good to MC, not really toxic, and each has their own spotlight. I badly wish this would end in a poly, but I've heard that only one would end up w MC(?)
Kindly read the comments before me since they've gone in-depth abt the characters' relationship progress. The last volume isn't out yet, but MC alr has a boyfriend in the rest of the volumes.^^
