All I can say is um ML is a simp. And if you expect MC to be angel then don’t lol. He is who he is for survival, and I do respect him for that. He is smart, cunning, and he used knowledges he knows from his last life to his advantage effectively. At the end, no one knows he is a fake son (I swear the duke and duchess are blind! I think the duchess suspected but don’t want to chase it further for reputation sake. They are just horrible parents. Except for ML adopted dad, he is awesome but gone too soon). ML knew but he is a simp. As long as he can be with MC, he is willing to be the dog.

Honestly MC was never mean to him and always pushed him to shine. I believe he was scared but was willing to reveal the truth EVEN THO it’s not his fault that his mom switched him with another baby. Gail becomes a strong and great knight thanks to Mc. Je Which is why being duke or not doesnt change anything for him. Also his love for Hailen is bigger than his desire to be the duke

Well now that I think about it? Mc’s friend knew (the one that will established the biggest merchant’s guild) and this guard who was investigating ML’s dad knew but he got threatened by ML. Mc’s bio dad knew but he got killed by ML.
