I don't know, I can't get into this story. I've read up to chapter 17 and it is so... so-so.

We only learn about FLs hardships through infrequent retrospective snippets. There is no build-up for the reader. I am a very empathetic person irl but the manwha fails to make me feel any real sympathy for FL.
She makes a deal with the CP (why the CP though? How could she, who has no standing in high society, even meet with him?), seduces the Duke (here as well we never find out how she approached him in the first place, the manwha starts with their bungabunga) and then suddenly starts acting like the head of her family, bossing everyone around and trying to humble and humiliate everyone who crossed her. In summary that's not a surprising plot, but the execution here felt so weird and clumsy that I was just shaking my head and thought FL was embarrassing.

Also the plot holes omg in the beginning ML said he refused to take the medicine and rather endured the pain because he didn't want to be chained to the imperial family. And in a later chapter the CP reveals that ML comes to the capital regularly to get his medicine from the imperial family. What now? Did the author just... forget? I don't think the author has any idea about what's going on in their own universe lol

And FL is a really weird person. She constantly relies on ML who conveniently comes to her rescue in every chapter because she can't to anything by herself. And then she gets sad and mad that ML doesn't lean on her. Hello?? Why should he? What kind of support could YOU possibly offer him in your current situation?

It feels so dumb. And the art isn't nice enough to overlook the weird plot execution.

Dropped.

I tried to find the novel, because usually manwha adaptions are lacking, glossing over important information and failing to properly convey complex emotions. So I wanted to give the og novel another try. But sadly I couldn't find it in English...
