Nah, you can care about someone while still giving them space. If I were manager, no further job dealings or serious commitments would be had until I knew for sure therapy was working for him, and he was working harder towards self improvement. That “therapy doesn’t work on me” comes off as an excuse to avoid opening up and doing the inner work that you know you need to do. At least he did say that he’s looking for a new doctor, so there’s a start. Hope he commits to that and doesn’t try to dump his hurt on manager again.
