I get that she was afraid of his threats, but she never really tried to do anything until the very end.
And then she was just... forgiven. That really frustrated me. There were so many chances for her to try to return to her family or find another way to be with them, but instead she just lived a normal life. Honestly, it didn't even feel like she carried much guilt over what happened.
