i get where you're coming from, but I feel the story does do a good job of helping us understand why the uke did what he did
like if he stabbed him just cuz the dictator guy ordered him to, that would have been underwhelming asf. but we see the uke getting that one innocent guy killed via false accusation, and that was the tipping point. the guilt made him desperate to atone and "make things right," and so he ended up stabbing seme.
was he right for stabbing him? not exactly. was the seme right for impulsively killing that guy with no evidence except what uke told him? definitely not. but i like this story cuz it doesn't really try to justify any of their actions. they all kinda suck. but you still can't hate them because of how human they feel.
You see, he started acting that way before the accusation of that guy. He was very selfish and i understand all his past trauma made him that way. But when he was threatened the main thing that made him scared was his family’s life. The family that sold him. He chose them. He chose everyone else that had hurt him.
I agree he was very human. But so was the seme, being used against his will as a weapon. Being treated as a monster despite the fact he was following orders. To protect the same people who used him or wanted him dead. And he still loved very dearly.
Plus seme only killed those people because he found him beaten half dead. I dont know how u can betray the only person who actually protected you. He went for that kill, because where he stabbed…. you cant survive it.That means he didnt give a shit about him. I found seme very pitiful too. Cause he really never had anyone love him like he did. He had to find a reason, to forgive him. To be with him despite the fact he will never be loved back the same.

omg right?! i really like how the story portrayed the seme forgiving the uke not because he just loved him sooooo much, but because he had to--if he didn't, he would be ALONE. it's tragic and pitiful, but I felt it was more realistic and fitting of the story's tone.
also, i think the seme and the uke just have really different relationships with other people. seme seems to be the type of person to really only care about the people he likes or is close with, while uke cares about everyone, even the people he doesn't know or who treat him badly. i think he just has more empathy and "love for humanity" than seme, which isn't beneficial during times of war and conflict and is why he had to drug himself up so much.
im sure the uke cares about the seme deeply just as the seme does for him, but he also cares about other people, for the better or worst. so seeing seme kill so many people, enemies and comrades, probably made him slowly start thinking it would be better for "everyone" if seme disappeared.
by loving seme in the first place, i think uke was betraying HIMSELF and his own principles of not harming/killing other people. so when he stabbed seme, he betrayed the person he loved the most, but he stopped betraying himself. i hope this helps explain how uke was capable of turning on someone he loved so much ╥﹏╥

And he knew he was suffering too, so to feel guilt that he was aiding the murders and help the one who orders them is insane
