Maybe it's just me but I feel like some artists sacrifice some stuff to go for a certain aesthetics and looks, like they have a goal this character must look this way, this character must look that way like the exchange between past!MC and the emperor. It's like the artist sacrificed the MC looking disgusted or terrified of the emperor's unwanted touches because they don't want certain things to ruin the aesthetic. Creating each panels that seems like art works is fine but don't forget you're still telling a story. This is like, don't show and don't tell. I can't tell MC feeling disgusted ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭ call it projecting or whatever but MC always looks sensual no matter who touches him.
