It was very rocky start because we only got mostly Dan's part in the first half, so it's easy to hate Jaekyung for what he did. He Was a shitty person, and he himself called that out after everything he did to Dan. He knew he fucked up, and he was very lucky that Dan liked him as well to stay. Both of them had their issues and I think that's why they did well with each other in the end.
I'm also glad that both of them were able to handle their past as well. Dan with the creepy doctor, and Jaekyung with his childhood.
I wouldn't mind seeing Jaekyung struggle with this guilty emotions in the special/extra episodes. I'd like to see him open up to someone besides Dan, whether it be his Manager or what. I think it would be good for Dan to suggest that as well. I think that Jaekyung coming to talk to Dan about his guilty feelings, and Dan telling him that maybe an outsider would help him come to terms. Adding that communication factor between them would help their relationship, and I think that would add to Jaekyung's character development.
Then again adding all that into special/extra's would be annoying. To be honest, I wouldn't mind seeing another story with the actor and potato. Maybe then there can be some episodes with Dan and Jaekyung relationship on a deeper level.
I get the hate for Jinx because of Jaekyung's attitude at the start, and all of the rape and forced parts. I understand the hate, but I also like the idea of second chances, and renewal when it comes to people. People are shitty, some people are very shitty like the doctor and Jaekyung at the start. Jaekyung changed though, he grew up, he learned. The doctor didn't, he just went deeper into his fcked up fantasies. The real person to hate in Jinx was the creepy doctor, not only did he try to force himself on our little Danny, but he also fcked his career chances, as well as almost killing him. The doctor never reflected on his choices, he stayed selfish to the very end.
I don't like the first version of Jaekyung, but with his character development I think he is a character I like. Not love, not a favorite, just like. Maybe if there was another story with these characters, or maybe whatever the creator has for the special episodes will change my mind.
Also, the whole think around the Jinx was a little bland, It would have been nice if there was a little more thought put into that. The ending very predictable for me, I figured someone was gonna end up dead/hurt. I thought for a bit that the granny might have died on the day of the last match and Jaekyung would for go the match for Dan's sake, but how the creator did it wasn't that bad. The whole Jinx thing was strange, especial since it wasn't mentioned a lot even after the last match. All we got was, I don't have a Jinx was a little boring, but I did see some comments that mentioned it. The story was alright enough to make up for that lacking factor.
I look forward to the special episodes. I don't know what kind I'd want tho, I want more of Dan and Jaekyung. I'm not sure if I'd like for them to go back to grannies hometown and open up another spot like the Director and his mom did. Or if I wanna see a vacation with them since they lack a lot of experience with hobbies. I know that Jaekyung would watch old movies and read before matches, but there wasn't much for Danny, and them spending time together now that they are together. I think seeing them having their first experiences of things together would be sweet. I'm hopeless when it comes to lovey-dovey shit tho, so maybe those aren't even good choices.
Whatever the extra episodes will be, I'm sure I'll enjoy seeing Little Danny's face again.
