I love so many aspects of this story

but other parts are so frustrating. Everyone who is trying to "help" is so sanctimonious. I get it's trying to teach hard lessons to ultimately make Kouhei (& Taichi) stronger, but it's all done in such a preachy way. Like his boss letting him get harassed by that pos coworker...uh why are you letting this guy treat a future employee like this? Whether they have a disability or not. And glasses intern I appreciate has spine but way to lash out at someone trying to be friendly & shit on people trying to form a community. Kudos to the author ig for being an equal opportunist - anyone can be an asshole ┑( ̄Д ̄)┍

Ikr?? Like I felt crazy because I’m like.. how is this a teaching moment for him when all it does is make him spiral?? It’s like his boss is testing his limits to see what he’ll do next. It’s like goddamn, give the dude a break!!

To be fair when this got its first serialization 13 years ago this was still pretty much the standard harrassment for someone who is different

I was thinking the same. Why did the boss let him harrass ML that much?To teach him a lesson to stand up for himself rather than bending his knee? Man,that was awful.

He DID step in when it seemed like it escalated. Idk I feel like you're giving Kouhei just way too little credit. He's a grown man. He deserves accommodations for his disability, but he doesn't need to be rescued from negative human experiences like a damsel in distress

Exactly like the boss should’ve said something. Why would he let their work environment become like that?

And what hurts the most is that it happens in real life as well. It's difficult to talk to people who are passive and condescendingly behavior. Just because people saw awful experiences as a lesson doesn't mean it's always right.
