you are def onto something with them being half siblings. I totally thought prof cha was banging the mom but it makes more sense for him to be the moms first son. Also it makes sense why she put Jiheon in the spot light

Top might be that younger sibling of prof cha. My theory is that in the flashbacks we saw how top's mom who was an actress never paid attention to him and even shifted to some different country without him, I am guessing she was having an affair with prof's father and he probably had a hard time cuz his father's affair and he is messing with wooju as revenge for top.
