I actually find this story pretty cute. The top's behavior in Season 2 has definitely become more toxic, but I think it could be interpreted as how people often don't reveal their worst traits when they're not in love yet or are just starting a relationship. As their feelings grow deeper, their possessiveness can also become stronger. I'm not saying the top is right, but we still have Season 3 ahead of us. Maybe the author will have him realize that some of his actions were wrong and show him making amends.
That said, I do think the series should probably be rated 20+ (or adults only), since younger readers may not have enough understanding of BDSM to interpret it in a healthy way.
Either way, I'm still looking forward to Season 3.
