And what kind of detective was Heyden???? He already knew from Andy’s childhood that he used to torture animals and even killed his (Heyden's) own dog. How did he not realize what kind of person Andy had become? And I think that could be the reason some of the neighborhood kids ended up pushing him onto the railway tracks because they saw him as a monster.

Despite knowing all that he still suggested going to Andy’s place alone just to talk. Isn’t it common sense that someone who starts by torturing animals can eventually become a danger to people as well??? What frustrated me even more was that he called Andy his “friend” right before letting his guard down (and leaving the house). Seriously how did this guy even qualify as a detective? I hate to say it but he practically walked himself into a painful death. The whole situation could have been avoided if he had used even a little common sense.

And for a moment I honestly thought he was one step ahead of Andy. I was hoping he had deliberately gone there alone as bait with the rest of his team secretly waiting nearby to catch Andy red handed. That would’ve made perfect sense for a detective. But nope. He really went there by himself, completely unprepared. ( -_-)

Honestly, I kept wondering that too

I agree but also in real life, people are a lottt less logical than it seems they should be. Especially police, once I was watching an urbex video and an old guy with a rifle put handcuffs on the YouTuber, forced him in his car and brought him to the police. This part wasn’t videoed, but the old guy told the cops if he saw someone else in the complex the YouTuber was exploring, he would shoot them. The police didn’t do anything, and a couple months later the old guy actually did shoot(I think it was with non lethal rounds? I can’t remember) 2 kids, they ended up okay and he only got 2 months probation
