Idk I feel like it’s believable her mums been grooming her to believe all sorts of things since she was young. She has that repulsion to the subject because her mum actively worked to make her not want to question it to ‘save her mums feelings’. This was all implanted before her brothers death. I don’t remember the time line but I know she was 12 when her brother died so she could’ve been even younger when her mum was doing this.
I think with her brothers death it’s all she could focus on, and then it was just one shit show after the other. I don’t know but I feel like I wouldn’t have been able to spend mental energy wondering what happened to an absent father.

her mother was surprisingly a hands-on "mom." she hated the brother because he was somewhat of a "burden," yet she still raised him herself without relying on any maids. despite being a psychopath, she still cared about sooyin's existence, teaching him how to properly clean himself and supporting him financially. she was the financially capable type of parent who could give anything to her child, yet somehow she's a fucking psychopath.
you can't just say that it doesn't make any sense how she's leaning towards her mother's crooked tears (couldn't care less if it was crooked or not), because she did love her after all —before she knew she was a killer. she was her mother before she realized she was a killer.
