yes… I believe their executions were implied… if i had to say a reason its bc they were witnesses to him hugging the body, so he had them executed so they couldn’t talk about his allegiance to the imperial party and accuse him of being a traitor. also could be to safeguard the fact that he and the other dude had the body and buried it in the mountains. ie they didnt want to reveal the location to anyone outside. obv the rebellion was based on the fact that the king was the enemy, so that was why they were so desperate to hide both imo.
as for the going blind part, dk i kind of just assumed that he was deteriorating but that’s honestly smart. makes sense as he had jean drink a diff type of tea so as to not be poisoned too, like the grand duke was poisoning the emperor
