Though I am confused on their timeline but reading the latest (ch 64) I did came up with theories and to settle on my thoughts.
to fix the timeline cos for some reason they were saying a bunch of years irregularly for my brain until I've read the fan scanlations;
10 years is the rift that came to humanity. within the next 2 years J and kid Saeyoung met but also at the 2 year mark J and a bunch of other hunters has gone in the west rift and died between 1 year after J died (3 years after the big rift came), Saeyoung got kidnapped and awakened 8 years passed by when J got spit out from the rift. During 8 years J's hair became white inside the rift dungeon his hair IS originally dark, might explain what the hell happened at the first few chapters/arc During also the 8 years everything changed and more groups got established.
i hope that's right. also J looked so ugly during the first few chapters ngl. These recent chapters now made him look so good looking
