Do y'all complaining about Riftan's character think this is 2026? Even if it were, you and I both know Riftan is doing the right you're just pissed at nothing and just want to spite. If I were Riftan I would not let Maxi go. Over my dead body will I let my wife of whom I love so much go explain herself to a bunch of judgemental pricks mind you are not women and even they were, are just silly gossips and inconsiderate bchs. I would never. I would rather start a war and be a tyrant idgad. The only reason I reason with Maxi is because she wants to protect her man as well thanks to the power of love and affection but if she reasons it logically and rationally, it'll be much better to start a war. Whether you win or not.

Honestly, being pissed at riftan just proves that we women are too emotional and men should go with our emotional thinking. No! In cases like this you use your reason. The sense you've got to step out of the situation. I haven't read the novel but I can bet this court case is going to get worse if Maxi testifies. I bet her sister as well ain't going to say anything cos she too is such a...ughhh.

Anyway, please read this book with a third person mindset and an medivial era mindset. It's not like as if women are not being treated right or heard in this era talk less then. And I bet you no man in Riftan's shoes will allow maxi testify, call it ego call it love call it both but that's the truth. They'd rather think of a way to shake out of it until it there's no way left. At the end of the day, he's a man who's deeply in love with his wife with little to no clue oj how to maintain a healthy relationship.

Give the dude a break. Give Maxi as well a break.

Also I forgot to add, do you think Riftan would have left her go on a norms? Hell no but because she used the gaslighting card and he fell for it, that's why she's on that carriage with him. I'm pretty sure he in probably has a plan. And this is not me downplaying the soldier who told her, he had every right to but he's not married and would not understand why Riftan is being the way he is towards his wife. If it was war, would he question titan's decision? No
