You're supposed to understand what is going on? I read a lot of guideverse/hunterverse/similar and still this series starts like it's from another planet. I'm spending all time just reading and trying to not get annoyed about the fact that I can't connect with the story because I don't know enough about it. This is seriously one of the most annoying ways to write a story.
It seems context is given in later chapters here rather than from the very beginning which in itself isn't a problem but even then there seems to be loopholes in making the scenarios clear and I'm somewhat with you on this
