Giving the translation some grace. I see where the story was trying to go and it was cute after you do some reading between the lines. I just think it is probably read better in its native language. That being said, the mother is my favorite character. The MC is too shy, anxious, and nervous. That shyness comes off as confused or not sincere. I wish I understood the story in the native language, im sure it would be better than the 2 and a half stars I give it.
