So ik this manhwa has had quite mixed opinions and yh it has it's ups and downs and potholes but overall this turned out better than expected. It bought it would be another slop villainess manhwa and whilst it did lean into that at times it was actually quite cute.
My main thing I loved was the male lead/male lead potentials, it was nice that for once a manhwa makes them have a life beyond the female lead. A huge reason being changing the male lead since it actually made sense for reilynn to like and end up with Lucas rather than the weird codependent relationship with javi. Lucas doesn't look like the typical male lead, actually has a personality and for once is in a lower position than the fl and not the knight in shining armour in the traditional sense but works behind the scenes. They also turned out to be way cuter than expected I feared changing the male and making this like an 'orginal' story may make the romance wonky or sudden and it did a little at first but I think it ended pretty well nonetheless.
This also helped javis character because if he had ended with her,I haven't read the novel so I'm making assumptions here, but it would've been odd and I doubt his mentality of only focusing on her would've changed but by giving her up he actually found a purpose beyond her and now has his own goals and values as a king. Same with Barrod where I don't personally think he was fully in love with her its giving bestie but through her he was able to make his own decision and move to the border. Yes the male leads have a heavy focus on her but unlike other stories she isn't their only focus they move on take her words to heart and find their own positions in life like Cassion finally getting the recognition he deserves and still caring about his family and just wanting to be with them and all the other male leads having a life and goal beyond her without being overly lovestruck still they respect her love and moved on with life.
So overall although this deffo had it's issues, especially the idyllic ending, it's a decent story and it going against the norm and giving an actual personality to the male lead potentials specifically makes this quite a fun read.
